Mimbres Christian camp began from a non-profit church group known as the Rio Grande Christian Camp in the 1960’s. The group rented the camp property through the 1970’s. The camp was donated by the McAnally Family for the development of Mimbres Christian Camp in 1972. Since then, a well, rustic cabins, an open-air chapel, bathhouses, kitchen, and a mess hall have been added. The camp is currently managed by a board of directors comprised of different representatives from the southwest part of New Mexico and Texas. Each camp session or retreat is operated by a dean approved of by the board. They These churches include:

The board, staff, and volunteers work diligently to maintain the campgrounds, prepare camp sessions, cook hearty and delicious meals for the campers, and provide a environment for campers to learn, grow, and have fun.
